Zimmerman leaves alot for the integral community to rethink. Climate change is NOT, NOT being driven by CO2. I wonder if Integral community can adapt to the new understanding that Zimmerman is putting out here. On Integral Life I was put through so many heated debates for stating what Zimmerman is. I was not heard and my hope is maybe now Integral will. Such an important topic and Integral is sleeping under Jim Garrisons lead. Will it give up Jim's "State of the World forum" now thats it is political and not scientific. Thanks Boulder Integral

Re: Private: Test

Integral Perspectives on Suicide
As we understand the evolution of values we are inextricably confronted with the big questions. In the West we seem to be holding in tension the inherited Christian perspective that suicide is murder and thus is a sin against God, the Buddhist view of the inherent sanctity of all life and the honour of suicide in Japanese culture and some extreme forms of Islam…..all this while we continue to be expected to digest killing in the media as entertainment. According to the World Health Organization suicide is the leading form of death amongst teenagers with a majority of those deaths involving an some form of abuse or escape into drugs or alcohol.
An emergent Integral perspective shows us for the first time the evolvement of our attitudes on Suicide and Euthanasia and through a four quadrant lens how the environment in one quadrant shapes the outcomes in another….how our internal beliefs, perspectives and pathologies are played out in our external actions and how are collective values determine our collective systems.
And so it seems that like trying to make an impact on climate change, our efforts are rendered impotent if we don’t make changes in all quadrivia. Sadly, while we take time to get our heads around this understanding our young men and women will continue to be cultural ‘sacrificial lambs’. Jean Paul Satre exclaimed that ‘there is nothing behind the veil’ and unfortunately many of our Post Modern teenagers - with only a narcissistic focus to sustain them, have become completely disillusioned. For them, there needed to be something there and the ‘godlessness’ of Boomeritis may have caused the seeds of personal and collective sustainability to shrivel and die. It does seem hopeful however that the insights of the emerging Integral awareness - if explored and expanded, may provide the nourishment for a new generation to take root, grow well, stand tall and ultimately surrender with grace.
Linda Watts, Christchurch, New Zealand

Re: Attunement

Like Keith's Attunement?
